Bio
My journey in the disability sector began in 2013 when I began working with young men in supported indepedent living for Koorburra House in Caboolture. I loved my new role from day one, and never looked back. I got so much out of building a rapport and getting to know the young men I was supporting, and I am still in contact with some of them ten years on.
Then in 2015 I gained employment with the Queensland Government again supporting people in SIL settings in the North Brisbane region. I completed certificate IV in Disability during my first year of training with the Queensland Government then several years later completed a Diploma of Community Services in 2020. During my time with the Queensland Government I had the privilege of supporting people with a broad range of disabilities including complex and challenging behaviours, mild intellectual disability and everything in between. Again, I loved the opportunity that this afforded me to make a connection with people, get to know them and support them in their daily lives.
Following the rollout of the NDIS my wife (Beatrice) and I decided to start our own business with a passion for making a difference and improving the lives of our participants in acquiring the right supports for them. We focus on family values and building relationships with our participants. The journey so far has been amazing, seeing our participants grow and develop in different areas of their lives is always so rewarding. We look forward to the next chapter in the lives that Proactive Support engage with.
Get to know the rest of us.
